Acting Up (in Acadiana) Presents REST IN LAUGHTER: A TRIBUTE TO RICKY BRIGGS

Lafayette, LA — Acting Up (in Acadiana), a small professional theatre company working in partnership with the Acadiana Center for the Arts, presents REST IN LAUGHTER: A TRIBUTE TO RICKY BRIGGS. Performances take place Wednesday and Thursday March 28 and 29, 2018 at the AcA.

REST IN LAUGHTER: A TRIBUTE TO RICKY BRIGGS honors founding member of Acting Up (in Acadiana) who passed away last year from cystic fibrosis related illness.  Ricky was passionate about comedy and Shakespeare. The tribute show has Part I and Part II. Part I has student actors ages 7-18 in their annual showcase--who will honor Ricky with an improv show. Part II will feature Acting Up (in Acadiana) company members: Hannah Briggs, Sarah Mikayla Brown, McKenzie McAnnaly, and George Saucier. The show welcomes guest artists from NYC, Nashville, Houston and Lafayette.  The second part of the show honors Ricky with sketch comedy featuring sketches from his sketch comedy troupe ‘Skit Happens’.  Lian Cheramie and Amy Waguespack direct.
